CHILD DEVELOPMENT
The YWCA's childcares
are a play-based model, which early childhood research
supports and demonstrates that children learn best by hands-on
interaction with their environment. General Goals of the play-based
model are: learning to trust, gaining independence, becoming
self-governing, developing a healthy
selfimage, developing self-control, learning social skills, increasing
physical
skills and the cognitive processes which include language, and
lastly, the
freedom to creatively express oneself through a variety of methods
and media.
The curriculum is developmentally appropriate to each specific
age group:
infant, toddler, and preschool.
The public is invited to visit either center, please call and
let the site
director know when you would like to visit. |
